I went to jump my truck after putting my transmission back in and forgot my terminals connectors are switched, so I went to jump her, and when nothing happened I finally remembered. Switch them so they were right and still nothing, what all do I need to fix?
I am going to say it because you earned it. That is why they are color coded. And the is why the positive is closest to the starter solenoid, hence the RED short wire. So OK NO red cable, get some red duct tape and wrap the + cable. And get the color coded plastic battery connection covers and install them. Then check the fusible link just down stream of the starter solenoid in the main harness, orange and says Fusible link. Even it it LOOKS good, is the wire up stream or down stream of the link stretchy or bubbled?? Then check all the fuses under the dash.
Also once that is checked and if it starts, check the alternator with a multimeter, to make sure it is working. You might of burnt and internal piece on the alternator.
Make sure you have spark.
Check the ignition control module, or test with a known good one.
check the coil or test with a known good one
check the distributor insides, wiring as well.
You did not kill it, you just hurt it a little, but it is a repairable hurt. You now have to troubleshoot it, to see what is hurt and needs repaired. Do all that above and then see if it has headlights when you pull that switch on. That at least that lets us know something is working. Power is getting into the truck from the battery to a switch. And you can do this without the truck running.
Also was it a manual or auto trans? That matters because if it is a auto, did you get the Neutral Safety Switch connected?
If I do all that and she still won't start, am I just screwed?
We need to know what "still wont start" means?
Do you have any dash lights when the key is turned on?
Power to any lights like head lights liked asked?
If you got dash & head lights dose in turn / crank over but will not start / run?
Each case above takes a different path to figure out what is wrong.

I replaced the fusable links and they looked good from the outside, but were toasted on the inside. Then when I hooked up the battery, there was still nothing. But the I found the one of the wires that came of ignition solenoid (I think, it's the thing right next to the battery that the positive goes directly to), so one of the wires that was hooked up on the same part of it that the lead from the battery was also had burned through, so I stripped that back and twisted it together and she started right up. Thanks again for all the help.
