How about FICM sync and cranking RPM.

Yes, you can shut off individual injectors with ForScan.

Check for codes first.
Then run the injector buzz test and identify the specific injectors that do not buzz or those that buzz "weakly".

I’m not sure where to look for the sync or anything I just clicked on the sensors to watch them, I also haven’t seen anything on where to do a buzz test at or how to set it up. I know there’s a few different apps to use for FORScan right now I’m using car scanner and it has a engine on the front. I downloaded the FORScan app and it wouldn’t connect to the scanner

That is why I mentioned the BAFX adapters in post #24.
ForScan is simply an "APP" (software). Download it to a smartphone or Windows laptop. Then you need a way to interface with the PCM. That is where the adapter comes in. WiFi or BlueTooth for your smartphone, depending on what type it is. USB for the Windows laptop.

Yeah I seen that but wasn’t sure what it was, so I’m going to have to buy a adapter that hooks up to a computer? The app on my phone won’t work for the other stuff I need it to work for?

So you have ForScan Lite on a phone now? If so, is it an iPhone or Android?

ForScan Lite on a smartphone can turn off injectors and pull codes like a professional (and retrieve all the PCM PIDs you need).

ForScan has dropped ELM support, but ELM327 adapters can still work - just not access all features.
The BAFX adapters are ELM327 (I have them and they still work, but I would rather have the MX+ adapter ....)
The ForScan Web Site talks about all of this (which adapters are best, the download links, etc):
https://forscan.org/download.html

Remember, whatever device you are using, you have to command the device to connect to it (whether it is WiFi, BlueTooth, or USB).

To disable injectors: you have to go into the control section of the menu. At the top of the a PID selection screen there are 2 drop down boxes: one for the module you want to read from, and the other is the read / write. Select write and chose what you want to control.

If the engine doesn't run worse when disabling a injector, it usually means that that injector not operating correctly.
If you disable an injector and the fuel demand or the engine load does not increase , than the injector is probably bad.

Here is a helpful video on a buzz test with ForScan:

I don’t think so no. I’m not sure if I have the right one or not.

This is the app I have now.

This is the first app I had and couldn’t get it to connect to the scanner. I have the Kobra ELM 327 interface. And it was telling me it was unable to identify the vehicle.

Car Scanner is a separate APP. Just like buying parts, the software programs are all different. Some APPs may use the same adapter as others, but then again some adapters may be VERY specific for a specific APP.

For a smartphone, you need ForScan Lite.

The version for a laptop has a few extra features and is handy IF you already have the laptop.

We can tell you what works, but there are a lot out there that don't work ...... and not many people (if any) are up on all of those software options.

If you don't like ForScan, then get Torque Pro. DieselTechRon has a video for that APP.

EDIT - this might spell it out on injector disabling (post #52):

I tried getting the app on my computer and phone and it says it’s not available in this area so I guess I’m kind of screwed there

I have never heard of it not being available in certain locations.

Then get Torque Pro.

I couldn’t find the apps but I decided to put the old ficm back in because it did run when I had it in, I installed it and the truck started right up and was still missing on 6-7 and 8. I redlined it and and all the codes went away and it started running right. I drove it all day yesterday and this morning it said I lost injector 4 and 6. Does this mean they’re just sticky and not working right? I’ve never had this before.

And now that I have it shut off it doesn’t want to start again just like when the other ficm was in
I think it has to do with a connection issue at the PCM or FICM I wiggled some of the connections and when I cycle the key only 1 injector is clicking.
