Greeting,
I've got a 94 Bronco with intermittent ABS and airbag lights that reappear after reset. The horn does not work. Fuses are good. Signal stalk seems good. I'm leaning to a clock spring. Your thoughts? Is this a fairly easy fix. Any aftermarket parts or is it strickly OEM?
Thanks in advance.
i had some problem with my 94 f-150 at about 165000 miles
the abs light would go out only to come back on twenty miles
later and blink to me.
horn and cruise also did not work all the time.
don't know about aftermarket but clock spring was about $80
at dealer
there are diff ones so make sure to take old one with you.
disconnect battery for at least 15 min before unscrew air bag
from behind wheel
take down lower dash, 2 screw and you see wire connecters
carefull of key buzzer wire, easy to break.
just don't throw your airbag around and you should be fine.
i took my time- about an hour i think.
good luck-disconnect battery!
You don't have to disconnect the battery - the airbag is TOTALLY safe, even from static after it's disconnected. Don't worry about it.
The clock spring is behind the steering wheel on trucks with a driver's airbag, and it's easy to change. Click my signature and look through the General Purpose photo album. There are pictures of the stripped steering column, the airbag, and the clock spring.
