This is being offered locally and I'm curious as to what it is. The seller said it's a "Unknown 8 cylinder engine block "., thinks is might be Ford. Looks unfamiliar to me but I'm sure the FTE brain trust can tell me what it is.
Based on that one picture, it appears to be a late 80's early 90's Mustang 5.0. As a core with the FI parts may be worth $3-500. If you can get it for free and flip it, it could pay for some good 226 parts.
I am so not into newer engines. I know very little to nothing about them. The engine and stand are very close, the seller obviously doesn’t know what he has, just as as much as me. I got the feeling the seller bought a property and this was left behind.
Could be. It looks like it's in a barn loft. I'm not aware of any application besides Mustang that Ford used those valve covers, 86-93. I see the smooth, wide pulley on the water pump which indicates reverse rotation serpentine belt. The double hump oil pan says Fox Mustang chassis. Without getting closer and examining numbers, etc., that's about all I can tell you from here. It has promise if it's a good 302 roller block with the E7TE heads, and worth something to somebody.
