05 Excursion OEM Tune

Hey all.

My tuner was stolen a long time ago, lost the original stock tune. I have a new tuner and tunes from both truck source diesel and gearheads. In order to troubleshoot some transmission issues I am having I was told to return to stock and see if they exist there or only with the tune. However, the stock tune I have may not be an actual stock tune.

I reached out to the dealership and they want my first born in order to get it flashed. Does anyone have an OEM tune, or can I get it anywhere else besides going to Lord FORDermolt?

I tried searching for a thread about this, but didn't see anything. So I apologize if I am duplicating this thread.

2005 Excursion 4x4 - I had the trans rebuilt with an Allison RV torque converter that runs at a lower stall speed, and 08+ filter and pan upgrade.

Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately I'm not neat you or I could help, but with IDS it is pretty simple, about 10 minutes or so and you have the most current flash Ford has for your VIN. Maybe 15 minutes if you include opening and closing the hood to pull the FICM relay during the flash.

Where are you at? is this something I could send you the ECU?

Maybe someone here in San Antonio / Texas can help?

Can you write something about the procedure for programming a PCM to stock with IDS?

As I understand it, this only works with official IDS software (to get latest pcm software version)
Or does it also work with a clone?

It worked in the past with my clone, as of right now I have v125. I think they are up to v127.

PM me your email address. I have the stock file my SCT tuner pulled out of my 2005 Excursion 6.0 .Don't know if it'll work for you, but its cheap to email a few files.

On a side note, I'm just north of you in Bulverde , TX

Isn't an IDS license needed to access the Ford servers to download the latest PCM files? Can an unlicensed knockoff clone (VCM II/IDS) combo access the servers? Without the files you may not have any data to use for an update (that is a question). Interesting subject.

If you get a scanner with J2534 (Autel is popular) you can pay for a 24 hour pass on the Motorcraft site and flash it yourself.

Another option that is getting a J2534 pass thru device and using FJDS. It allows module programming on 1996 to 2018 Ford's. You can get a (it's either a 1 or3 3 license) for pretty cheap from Motorcraft Service.
