As of late when driving the truck at any given time the speedometer and tach will drop to 0. The check engine light comes on and throttle is non responsive. While the engine appears to run consistent minus losing throttle command. I put the truck in neutral to coast further, scan for a landing spot and tap the pedal when it happens. This has occurred around 6 times in the past 2 months and does not last over 10 seconds. Initially I thought it was the ICP unfortunately the issue occurred with the ICP unplugged. The ICP was replaced anyways as she was tired. Unfortunately, some of these symptoms were similar to when my pcm went out. Not too sure what steps to take next. Any help is appreciated and thanks for the replies.
2002 truck
Have you double checked the bolts to the PCM connector and 42 pin are snug? Battery connections, main power and grounds all clean and tight? Do the 02's still have a PCM diode in the fuse panel? If so how's it for clean and fit?
Automatic or manual tranny? Maybe shifter wire on the column is getting chaffed but hasn't blown the fuse yet? Also check for loose fuses. Will need to see which ones for a 2002.
Edit: after a quick search I believe fuse 45 feeds throttle and cluster. Can pull it to verify. Check for condition, security.
I checked the batteries they are good. Hopefully about to check the rest of the requested components today. When it occurs the truck just drops to idle and the check engine light comes on. Additionally, my truck has never been the best at keeping the trip going. It will reset back to 0.00 intermittently as well not sure if that's related or not. The odometer is functioning normally. No new codes or issues since my last post. Truck is automatic. Will report back after
checking the pcm connection, fuses etc.
P0603 keep alive memory (very frequently comes up/ could be due to pcm reflash)
