This is my third oil change (4,000 mile intervals, yes its overkill). Purchased with 150,000 (+/-). I now have 162,00 miles, all stock.. Oil report appears good to me, as I read it. Any insights from those here with lots more experience (is iron a bit high or normal?)?
Iron level is fine, nothing to worry to much about there, its about normal (not good, but not bad either).
The low viscosity would concern me slightly if I intended to go tow a heavy trailer in the hot summer up mountains or something. But for normal daily driving its fine to stretch a little farther.
The silicon number (basically an indication of how well your air filter is working) is a little high for my taste. Good oiled air filters (I like AFE, but S&B is good too, just stay away from K&N) will get you lower Silicon numbers. I live in South Texas so sand and dirt getting into your engine a concern here, with a regular paper filter I was getting in the 20's for Silicon, with an AFE proguard 7, its around 5. Also my iron levels lowered a little when I went to the better air filter/ lower silicon levels.
Overall your engine would appear to be in pretty good shape.
