I have replaced the outer tie rod ends and drag link/ball joint end on my 350. I have looked many places and have found different torque numbers everywhere I look. I have seen 67 and 85 for the outer tie rod to knuckle. I have seen 129 and 185 and one other number for the drag link to pitman arm. Also the good old gutentite. Does anyone have definitive numbers for these? I also looked in the Tech folder but may have missed it. Thanks.
I know the 67 is good for the early 6.0 on the tie rods, I also know the newer trucks require 85. What I could never find out is if the change happened with the 6.7 or if the changes happened in 2005 with the conversion to the coil front end. Same thing with the other measurements.
I went with the higher specs when I did mine as looking up the bolt sizes the higher number was still on the torque range for those fasteners. If I remember correctly.

Thanks. I am usually able to find what I am looking for but these are tough.
You welcome.
When I am home from work, I can do things like this.
If you see something that you need, I have access to the 2003~2007 Ford Workshop manuals on DVD.
They made a change to the software on the disks around 2005 that makes is easier to create the PDFs.
