Question starter solenoid issue

Put in some new battery cables

Negative batt to engine ground.

New positive to starter solenoid.

All 2 AWG wire

Cleaned all contacts. Used die electric grease.

For some reason the battery drained
Nothing at all 3 volts at battery

Could I have hurt the starter solenoid when torquing down the new battery cable?

Before I could let the truck sit for weeks and it has always started right up.

Thanks for the help.

You need a super thin backup wrench torquing solenoid bolt, but if you damaged it, you would have known it. It sounds as though you have a steady draw on battery. Any chance you have glove compartment lamp on or aftermarket radio? Brake lamps stuck on? Dome lamp? Old style mechanical voltage regulator with stuck points? Just a process of elimination.

Thanks,
The cables were corroded very hard and the covering was cracking.

As far as a draw, I believe it has been there to some extent.

I think I over torques the starter solenoid bolt and it twisted inside.

I did recall seeing a turn signal dimly lit when driving at night and lights on.

Nothing else seems is on as you mentioned.
