PATS codes - PCM?
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1696549-crank-no-start-bad-hpop.html
We are dealing with a crank, no start and have done all (I hope!) of the typical HPO, FICM, fuel system troubleshooting and haven’t pinpointed the problem yet. Recently, I finally had the stars align to have a scanner, app, vehicle, and phone all working together and we managed to pull a bunch more codes than we had been getting on the lower quality platform.
bismic was kind enough to pick out the more important ones and added descriptions:
“B1600:
PATS Ignition Key Transponder Signal Is Not Received, PATS Received Incorrect Key-Code From Ignition Key Transponder,
PATS Received Invalid Format Of Key-Code From Ignition Key Transponder, PATS Transceiver Module Signal Is Not Received
B2103: Antenna not connected
U1147: Invalid or Missing Data for Vehicle Security
B1318: Battery Voltage Low GEM/CTM
B1352: Ignition Key-In Circuit Failure GEM/CTM
(I constantly have this code because I eliminated the door chime for the "key-in-ignition")
U1262:
SCP (J1850) Communication Bus Fault: PCM Received Signal for Fault on Bus Circuit (code stored in the Instrument Cluster) - An instrument cluster (or shorted wire associated w/ the cluster). TSB Number: 17956
U1027:
* Faulty Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module
* Anti-Lock Brake System Control Module harness is open or shorted
* Anti-Lock Brake System Control Module circuit poor electrical connection
Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message for State of Health monitoring. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. When a module does not associate an identification number with at least one critical parameter within 5 seconds of beginning serial data communication from Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Control Module, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is set.”
We do not have the 1260 code, and the anti-theft dash light is not flashing continuously.
I am planning to buy new batteries tomorrow, and we have recently (since the previous attempt at jump starting) disconnected the remote start/alarm system. I’m about to go out and try to jump start it again without the remote start box.
I am open to any and all suggestions, and I will try to answer questions as best I can. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is looking quite busy, but I’ll do my best to check in.
Thanks for any words of wisdom you may have!
Laurel-Anne
