Clear coat sanding
With out seeing it but as a guess you will need to sand / feather out the chips most likely down to the base coat (BC).
It the BC has been touched then it will need to be painted and then the CC sprayed on top of that.
Now if you dont touch the BC you will still need to spray CC over it to look right.
I would start with say 600 wet n dry with water and a little Dawn dish soap in the water.
Then move to 1200 and then 1500 and buff.
But again if it has chips you will need to go down pretty far and need to CC again.
What made you think the truck would not get damage at a gravel yard?
Heck I use my F100 for weekly trash runs and as careful as I am the inside of the bed gets scratched from the binds.

As far as trusting the gravel yard, they are usually pretty careful because they can see it’s a clean 13 YO truck. It’s not like I get gravel everyday, I figured a few loads wouldn’t hurt it. I’ve gotten lots of mulch (not the same, I know). Guess I was wrong. If I need more, I’d probably drape the bedsides with something.
