It's ALL in the prep work that you do. If you just go to town rolling a bedliner in it'll bubble up and crack out in a hurry. Clean the bed really good, sand down rust and loose paint, scuf everything, and try to punch out the biggest dents, and you'll be a lot better off. People will tell you it doesn't matter, but take the time to pull your bed bolts and tie down points. Grinding a bedliner off them is just a PITA that can be avoided with a T55 bit, an impact gun, and some PB Blaster.
A roll in will never be as good as a sprayed one IMO, just because it's harder to paint on on evenly. I've done one Herculiner bed liner, and as far as I know it's still in the truck, but it was a sloppy job and we only did one heavy coat. I've seen some where they took their time, used rust-mort and a sander, painted all the hard spots by hand with brushes, did a lighter first coat, and a heavy second one, and they look just as good as my Line-X.
You are Right about the prep work !
I was thinking of doing at least 3 coats to have a thick coating,
I was also thinking that I would Wire Brush the Bed Between Coats ?
