Yes it's great to have the controls for your wife/passenger.

But, for me the best part is:
All I ever do is adjust the temp .......1 button ....... that's it. I don't spend a bunch of time monkeying with the fan speed and other controls back and forth and back and forth.

Just one button. Set the temp and forget it.

When I ordered mine you had to go Lariat to get it. Dual Temp and Leather were the reasons I went Lariat.

It can also come down to sunny side of the truck versus the shady side . . . .

Well worth it.

Put me and my wife for the rare ones that don’t care for it. She typically brings a long sleeve or a blanket everywhere we go. If we are in the vehicle for a long period of time, she would rather pull a blanket over her and read a book… the temperature control isn’t even thought about by either of us. It didn’t make sense to us to have 2 different temperature settings going in such a small enclosed space anyway… XLT for us!

Agreed, even if both thermometers are set to the same temperature. One the reasons we sold our 2017 XLT and buy the 2019 Lariat was to get dual zone temp control.

Safe travels,
Jim / crewzer

For summer driving I tape off the passenger side floor vent. My SO travels in jeans, long sleeves/sweatshirt with a blanket and her seat heat turned on while I'm driving in shorts, sandals and a tee shirt. I doubt that dual zone controls would make much of a difference. My old Buick beater does have dual zone controls but she rarely has her side more than a couple of degrees higher than mine...but the seat heat is still on.

You can doubt but it’s realty for my family. My wife sometimes has the heat full blast on her side and I have max AC on. It’s a large cab. I feel the air and she feels heat. She also likes to have a blanket with the air on for long trips. But for short trips, hers is usually much different. I would not buy a vehicle without dual climate control, but it’s great to have choices.

I'm surprised it's a separate option. Usually they make you buy options you don't want, to get ones that you do. Seems like I remember a time not too many years ago, we would just close the vents on one side or the other, or direct them away from ourselves if one or the other thought the temps too different. But what someone said about the comfort of the seats themselves might make it worth it. Mine has the massaging seats and ventilated seats. I could really live without the massage, and can't really tell about the ventilated. But all that came as part of the package.

But if an option by itself, I'd say go for it. Would probably help resale value if you don't plan to keep the truck til the wheels fall off.

And my wife does the same thing. I'm cold. I reach my hand over and point to the **** for her. And make a joke about how heavy her arm must be to not be able to lift it that far. She doesn't think it funny. But after the first year, she reaches over automatically now, and I can see the confidence and satisfaction she gets from having all that power. I let her drive every once in a blue moon. She likes the way the seat, steering wheel, and pedals all move into position for her.

I would not buy another vehicle without it. My wife and I are typically travelling with me in short and t-shirt with the cooled seats on complaining the sun is always shining on me. Her with a sweatshirt, pants, heated seat on high and the hot air blowing at her complaining the sun is never shining on her. I don't miss the fights before we had separate controls.

I explained to Sweet Wife what dual zone A/C was. She laughed and said save the money, she would set the entire cabin the way she wanted it just like always.
