What Is This?

Just noticed this thing, which appears to be a loop. I’m about to install a camera and some accent lights. Is this something I can wire into? Shows how observant I am. Replaced hitch and fuel pump and am now aware. My wife tells me that an atomic blast would hit us and I’d be asking where my glasses are when they’re still on my face.
Thanks.

Oops.

I’m mounting a camera and some green accent lighting. The camera is a must have. The green lights are just for fun.

So that is your tail end harness, no?
I just crossed this bridge when upgrading my rear bumper and the backup sensor feature.
Why your plug is way over there instead of behind the license plate where it belongs, I dunno.

If it is indeed the plug I think it is, it is for the lack of bumper back up sensors. I had one too. You are wired up to that point for back up senors, but for some reason with the option not filled there needs to be a jumper there. I found nothing in the service manual either. And don't remember what wires it is jumping out. It must have something to do with the tranny range sensor triggering the sensor system to engage. which it does.
