2001 Excursion XLT large rear side window leak solved.
When I bought this Excursion a few weeks ago it would leak a little after a rain. Enough to fill the cup holders by the 3rd row seats but nothing else was getting wet. After doing a little research on here and on the web discovered that the XLT windows did not move and were glued shut making them similar to a front windshield. Asked around and found a guy that had been doing windows for 30 years and said he'd done several dozen of these trucks. He came out removed some molding and the spare tire and the mounts holding the windows then took them off. Showed me the small lines in the glue allowing the water to come into the truck by the cup holders. He cleaned it up and sealed it like a front windshield. $125 each and I was a happy customer.

On an XLT it is just like fixing a windshield. He cut it out, cleaned it and put in new gasket material. This guy is in eastern Virginia but look for a self employed guy that doesn't have to do everything by the book. He said he had done several XLT Excursions over the years. The Limited open and close so they don't have this leaking issue. .
