So i dont push my truck too hard anymore and im still kinda stuck between a stage1 and stage 1.5 want a little more power when towing over the pass from what i have been basically been seeing is the 30% nozzle will do nothing in a tow tune. Experience? Got 310k on stock injectors think its time to replace.
From my limited observations, 30% nozzle A code is good for between 160 and 170cc max average fuel injected, contingent on whether you have a worn stock HPOP, a healthy stock HPOP, or an aftermarket HPOP that flows more and can maintain high enough ICP. If you need more the only reasonable options are stepping up to a 30% nozzle hybrid, the performance of which is less contingent on HPOP flow, and if you need more still the 80% nozzle hybrids. There are other combinations involving large nozzles but that results in a hit to atomization.
With towing I'd think you would want more conservative, efficient power to avoid breaking things downstream of the engine, in which case a 30% nozzle A code or small hybrid might suit you very well. Just depends on what kind of power you're looking for. You could get larger injectors and detune them for towing, but again there hits to atomization doing that.
If your sig is correct and you're running a 38R you might have better luck landing a good towing combo if you swap it out to a SXE or KC Turbo while doing your injectors, as those turbos will enable more torque over a larger range while keeping EGTs in check.
