Don't know which to go with,stage1 or 2.I know i have PMRs but is it wise to get them detuned.Don't race much just short runs on the freeway,I tow once in a while,10000# 6% grade uphill.I do want to add around 75 HP safely.I have a GTP 38R installed just haven't figured out how to update my sig.Ive read that using after market injectors will lower EGTs.Will my temp stay the same as it is now(cant get above 1250 on my pyro @WOT on my 140 tune). Will want to use ss injectors and have them tuned by Jody.
I think most will agree the Hybrids are the way to go. I like my set and they go great with the 38r also. Just have Jody to tune it to what you want and be safe with the PMR's

I disagree. Why spend the money on hybrids when stage 1 or 2 would be plenty for his needs? I would go with a set of reman's stage 2 for $1550 vs. $2500 for reman hybrids. He has no intention on taking them to there potential.

I'm not sure where you're getting your pricing, and since there is no industry standard for what a stage 1 or stage 2 is I hesitate to use the terms, but for the sake of this post I will, but a "typical" stage 2 injector is, depending on where you get it, just about the same price as a mild hybrid.
Swamps 200/30% hybrids can be had for $2250 and will give him the same power (or more if he ever chooses) versus a "stage 2" without needing to push the injector as hard.
Now, before you ask me to explain the "push the injector as hard" statement, I apologize, but I cannot articulate the difference in tuning between the two injectors. I'm just not versed well enough in that area yet to explain it yet. But I do know when I did copious amounts of research regarding the hybrids versus a "stage 2" single shot, that the hybrids performed their task easier at a given power level compared to the "stage 2" injectors, when that power level was at the higher end limits of the "stage 2" injector.
Stage 2's I have stage 1 injectors and it's starting to feel stock even with the tuner turned up. I wish I had done stage 2's, I didn't have the money and a friend rebuilt my injectors with parts he had at his shop. I would have had to wait a few days for the other parts and have spent money I didn't have.
Swamps 175/146 Single Shot inj get my vote. Have had them in my PMR setup for almost 2 years and towed our 31' 5th wheel 10K miles with them. HPOP has no problem maintaining 3100 psi while towing up grades, no more SES light and better fuel economy. 350 HP and 700 torque on the last Dyno in Dallas - that's all I'm comfortable pushing the PMR's. HEre's the link....
Jon Faubion had Swamps 175/146 SS injectors in his 99 Dually for a couple of years before I did. I really liked how his truck pulled his race car & trailer. Tony Wildman has some great tunes for these injectors so I went with an already tested combination. I just added the Van turbo and the DI intercooler......I've been having a ball towing lately......
Chris im in the same boat but i think i might go with the "stage II" single shots when the funds are right! I figure the price isn't much difference between the two and if in the future you do decide to upgrade your turbo you'll have what you need. With the stage II's you can always have them tuned less aggressive if you are worried about your PMR's

It sure seemed like AC 160 cc had become the standard for stage I's (single shot) and the same injector with larger nozzles were stage II's (ss) . $1550 Is the price I received for Casserly built injectors. The same for the $$2400+ reman hybrids.

I think it is absurd to tell a guy to get a bigger injector then what he wants because someday he MIGHT want to go build an all out rig. For $2250+ I would buy the Stage II's and an adrenaline pump .
I have Stage 1 single shots from Swamps
I love them!!
Had my DP retuned by Jody
Made a HUGE impact!
Bob, to answer the question you sent me I have to add links to some pics. Couldn't get the pics to upload to the message reply. Sorry for the thread hijack....but it does pertain to this thread some....
Bob, I added one of DiPricol's HPOP gauge from ITP Diesel to see how the stock HPOP was holding up with Swamps 175/146 injectors since they use less oil than the stock split shots.
Using Auto Enginuity I did some datalogging. With Tony's tow tune and pulling our 31' 5th wheel (loaded for a week of camping) I easily maintained the ICP demand of the program. Here is the graph.
Going up grades in the Smokies, the Black Hills, etc.. the gauge jumps to 3100-3200 psi and stays there without bleeding off. With the stock split shot inj's the gauge would peak then start to blead off and set the SES light.
