Stalling in reverse and at stops, please help!!
i just purchased a 2001 E350 econoline, 5.4L with 148k miles. the van was sitting for years, it runs smooth with no issues while driving but at stops it stalls, it also stalls in reverse. i cleaned the throttle body, replaced spark plugs, replaced the tps sensor, replaced the idle air control valve, egr valve, we performed a smoke test and found no vacuum leaks, unplugged both O2 sensors and test drove with no difference, anybody have any suggestions?

Mark you are Awesome!!! so when i bought this van it had a hole drilled into the transmission pan, all the fluid was drained out. one of my mechanics replaced the pan and refilled the transmission and it shifted good with no issues so we focused on the stalling issue assuming it was something related to the engine. i never bothered to check the trans fluid assuming the mechanic filled it up properly. right now i had to add 4.5 qts to bring it to the full level. test drove it 30 miles with multiple stops and all stalling has been resolved.
