2002 Escape stalls when going into reverse
2002 3.0L escape 4WD, stalled twice on me when shifting into reverse after a complete stop. No CEL, truck started right up again. Anyone else having a similar issue?

the most common problem with just about any make with a stall when going into reverse or coming to a stop with no check engine light on is going to be your Idle Air Control valve or IAC valve. Go to the parts store and buy a can of Carb. cleaner and a gasket and thoroughly clean it out with a tooth brush and/or pipe cleaners. Worst case scenario if it doesnt work, the part is I believe around 80 to 100 dollars from the dealer.

Any luck in finding fix
I am currently haveing this same problem. Did you ever find the fix? I have replaced the IAC valve, a few vacuum hoses, EGR valve and still stalls in reverse, and now going into drive (sometimes). Just wondering what the final verdict was for you. TIA.

It was 7yrs ago so a bit of a long shot...no codes being thrown?
