door solonoids

I having trouble with my drivers side door solonoid (or bear claw latch. Latch moves smoothly and releases as it should when
the door is open. I push the latch closed till it clicks the push the button on the remote and it clicks open. BUT with the door closed
and latched the soloniod won't release unless I push the door into the frame slightly, which releases some of the tension on the
latch... tried all kinds of adjustments on both latch and the stud in the door nothin seems to work... and even with the door latch but adjusted out
sitting proud of the frame it still won't release.

Battery is plenty strong and the pass door works fine with the same setup
I'm thinking my solonoid is weak and considering stronger solonoid. But before I drop 100 bucks I thought I'd ask the gurus.

here's what I'm using. they are from Watson's Street rods

I have 40 lb actuators on my panel and it's the same thing. I'm sorry I ever shaved the door handles as nice as it looks..

there are a lot on amazon and ebay that look like these... I ve seen 40,50,60,75,100 # models with the same picture in the ad... I'll just have to wait and see I guess... I believe in go big or go home
I've got the skinny little light duty ones and the mounting will be totally different I know... so some fabricating is in order...

as an aside... My wife hasn't put her faith in these latches since day one, she's frightened of a dead battery and getting trapped in the truck...

So at the Grand Nats last year I bought a OEM right side actuator and handle for her side. Spent the day installing it today. I had to completely remove (drop down) the window and track,
and remove the bearclaw latch . Installed the actuator and the linkage rod fit the bearclaw perfectly...just added a washer and locknut to hold the rod to the bearclaw lever. Now to reinstall and align the window again...
working blind in the door WITH the window stuff inside is not a fun day for old guy with arthritis in shoulders and wrists... LOTS of pain creme tonite...LOTS of Tylenol

solonoids are supposed to be here Friday (or so) so I'll post up some stuff.

Mostly need to know if they work. I tested mine that said they were 40lb tested to 50lbs and figured it was good enough. might have held more weight but didn't test beyond the 50 lbs..

I've had my actuators in for a while now without a problem, but I used electric lock actuators out of a mid 70's GM product that I grabbed for about 5 bucks from a salvage yard. I think I paid more for the relays than I did for the actuators.
