For you folks that have flatbed trucks 48-52 F-1 - F-3 size. Could anyone tell me the measurements for the wood that mounts between the frame and the bed(stringers I guess they would be called)
I am using a F-2 flatbed on a F-1 chassis. Also if anybody can the wood for the deck measurements
Thank you,
Jeremy.
I am converting my '53 pickup to a flatbed. The runners are 1 3/4" thick by 5 1/4" tall and 85 1/2" long. The underside has to be contoured to fit the frame rails and clear various rivet heads etc. The originals appear to be made out of pine but I used white oak when I made new ones. Much harder and rot resistant. The deck is recessed between the bed frame rails. The full deck measurement is 68 1/2" wide by 81 1/4 long. Bed Frame Installed Originals

Thank you the bits that I have measure 2 1/4" x 7". Not really sure if the are Henry original or not although I would be surprised if any are. Got lucky and from what I can see I do have all original side board locking metal hardware except for the 2 drop rods.
Hopefully others will chime in.

Just be careful. You might be comparing apples to oranges... or at least 48-52 to a 53 and a F2 to an F100.
The hardware for the racks is reproduced and can be found on line. Search for it. I don't know if it is identical to stock but it will work.
These sound very similar. I am about 25 miles north of Indy in Atlanta, IN. If you're ever in the area you would be welcome to trace the pattern from the underside of the originals. I am gone for the winter, but will return the first week of May.

Thank you for the offer but, I am in southeastern Va and don't travel much.

What a PITA communicating here. The carb is off, it is a Holley, with diet vacuum line and linkage.
Sorry the air cleaner was an after market chrome replacement with clean filter.
