2021 Truckstock article

Last October I put together an article for Y Block Magazine and sent it to Bob Martin. This was mid October. Bob was having computer problems and nothing ever came of it and I didn’t ask about it. Last week he got a new computer or laptop and he’s working on it again. We’ve been emailing back and forth and it sounds like it will be in the next 2 issues. The publisher wanted 5 pages for this issue. I hope everything turns out ok, when I sent the article, sometimes 3 pictures would be stacked one on top of the others. If you clicked on the top picture and moved it aside, you could see the next picture underneath. I hope he could separate the text to go with the right pictures. If not he said we’ll make corrections for the next issue. He liked the pictures of the F 800 fire truck.

Well that sounds cool! How does a guy get a copy? Is it a hard copy magazine or digital? Thanks for doing this! Dave

Yes, Dennis, let us know. Can you buy single copies ? Or must you subscribe for a year?

There’s 6 issues a year, supposed to take 2 issues to do the story. I bet he’d sell single issues. I got 6-8 copies last time. I forgot to hand some out other than Ed when we met at the junkyard.

Y-Block magazine.

Bob sent me 5 pages this morning, but photos were cut off and jumbled.

Here’s a screenshot of page 3. I don’t know how that happens. It’s not ready for the publisher yet.

Just wait a minute there, I didn’t give permission to use my pretty face. You’ll hear from my lawyer, as soon as I hire one.

Ok, kidding, would be great to see the article.

I resized all the pictures last evening and sent them to Bob again. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it works this time.

We’re still having trouble. This is a screenshot of page 4. The trucks at the lake are cut off.

I got an email from Bob Martin, he sent the article to the publisher and it sounds like the pictures and text were all sorted out ok. He also said he thinks he’s going to use the photo of Dave’s yellow engine for the cover of the magazine. I’ll post more when I know more.

Wow! What an honor! Glad the picture was taken before Abe took us down the dusty mountain trail! I still have some of that Pennsylvania Mountain soil on my truck😆 Thanks again Dennis!

Come on, that dust increased the value of our trucks by at least 30%

We’ll, it looks like it printed out ok. I didn’t read it yet to see if there are errors. I wanted to post these quick.

Well they didn’t post in order. I’m sorry.

That's awesome, dennis. Thanks for doing this.

And it's great to see Dave's properly painted Yblock on the cover. Kudos to Dave!
