Radiator issues
specs that I know:
Truck: '69 F-250 4x4 camper special. my father swapped the original engine for a Detroit 353 and a Chevy 4 w/ over.
the radiator I have in has the following measurements:
Core: 19 in tall x 26 in wide x 2 in thick
25 in from top of top tank to bottom of bottom tank, 30 in wide from edge of flanges
inlet:1.75 inch passenger side
outlet; 2 inch driver side
Rear Flange (flange is on the engine side)
(these are not exact as measurements were taken with a tape measure and a flashlight)
So on to the problem.
The core has rotted and leaking, so I need to get it repaired or replaced. I have been looking everywhere for a replacement and even went over to Summit Racing and called a few locals and searched online. I am trying to find a decent replacement as going to a radiator shop is going to be somewhere between 600-900$ to have it re-cored. According to Champion and others, it's a 444b or such size? I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas or knows where to find one that is the right size as I called LMC cause years of working on this ol' girl has taught me to double check and the replacement they are selling (part number 43-3040 ), has a 1.75 in inlet and outlet, not the 2 in outlet. Though the gal on the phone was not really sounding certain about it. Has anyone ordered that radiator or another from somewhere and can confirm it is a drop in replacement?
Or any other ideas? Thanks.
I take it you cant ask dad what the radiator was made for?
If I dod not know what it came from and knew a factory size radiator would not work I would take it to a local radiator shop and have them either order one they thought would fit or re-core that one using the tanks you have.

The dimensions you listed sound like the standard bumpside radiator. Champion makes an all aluminum one that fits great and works even better. I picked mine up off eBay a couple years ago for under $200. But like everything else these days, I'd imagine they cost more.
Does this one look right? 300 plus shipping
This Griffin is an exact replacement.
I was reaching out on here because they are back ordered and unsure of when they will be getting new stock, and I was hoping someone might know someplace with one squirreled away or something.
I'm not certain what's different with a 4x4 that puts the radiator in front of the support, but if a 2wd would work, this is a much cheaper option.

These are super cooling radiator core supports. One is off a 1970 f350 dually and the other is off 1972 f250 4x4. Regular radiators bolt to the face of the core support. With these core supports, the radiators are bolted to the fins on the engine side. I dont have one of the other core supports laying around for comparison. Might have a pic from my 2wd 70 f250.
