Fluid Transfer Pumps
What do you all use for filling transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, etc?
The battery operated pumps and hand pumps are garbage and take all night. I see guys using a 1 gallon weed sprayer... I may go that route.
I also have a 55 gallon drum that I fill with used oil. I have a friend who uses waste oil for heating, so I was going to empty it out in his shop. I can get empty barrels at work. My plan was to used compressed air to empty out the drum into one in my truck bed, then empty in his oil tank, like the video below:
I've seen this method end very badly when I was I lube tech in college, and the machine shop I now work in has an "apprentice mark" on the ceiling of an unfortunate event years ago. If anyone has found an affordable transfer pump that actually works and lasts, I'm all ears.
