I've got my truck in the shop(mine that is) I drained fluid out of case and thought that was alot of oil.. Off to auto store for oil.. 3qts. Putting synthetic in,roll under truck,1qt in.2qt in, maybe 8oz from 3rd qt then oil runs out fill plug..hmm!!. I had a empty gal. jug so I pour old oil in and wow!! Almost a full gallon of old oil..I can only get 21/2qts in. That's with the rear jacked up.. Any thoughts!!

That's what I was going by..could it have been overfilled at factory?? I bought the truck with 65k on it now at 127k.. 3 3/4 qts came out.. I took a pic of jug,if I can figure out how to post it
Could it be possible that the rear seal or front seal on transfer case is leaking causing the transfer case to overfill??.. Going to drive it and keep an eye on oil level.. if it fills again time for a split I guess
