3.5 l question

I bought a used 2018 3.5 ecoboost F150. I’m unsure about using the auto on/off feature.
I’m wondering if all the start/stop cycles will prematurely wear out the starter?

Not sure how much mileage increases by using it.

Thanks.

You don't hear about a lot of starters going out.

I let mine start/stop in the cooler months.
In the summer or stop and go traffic I turn it off.

There are a couple of features that are supposed to disable it.... Sport mode and Max A/C are two that come to mind.

Starter failure is not common at all; even with auto S/S. Pretty sure the starter is beefed up for this kind of service (but would accept being corrected here).

1. No need to worry about the starter, it's not an issue.
2. I don't think there is much fuel savings.

I bought the Eliminator and love that mine does not start / stop. Starter might be better and allegedly not prone to fail, the battery will suffer, and maybe I'll get a lifetime out of the starter.

I’ll look into an eliminator I think. Thanks for the responses.

I put pne on my 2018 F150 and also on my 2020 Edge. They work great, so glad I bought them. Hardest part was getting the panels off the had to come loose. The truck was the dash and the Edge was the console. I just checked the install on the Auto Start Stop Eliminator web site. for harness installation.
