sorry for the stupid question
i was looking into buy a 78 f150 flatbed 4x4, with a 351m. it was bored .30 over. my question is, what is the engine size (cubic in) now? thanks

Try 357.2 cubic inches.

Actually it would be 357.15 CID. The engine was bored .030" not .30" and you need to use a different calculation to measure the volume of a cylinder.

Volume(of a cylinder)= Pi (3.14159....)*R^2*Length

You can do the rest now, Mr. Jackal

Don't forget to mulitply the result by the total # of cylinders to get the CID for the engine.

I like the formula:

bore x bore x stroke x 0.7854 x no. of cyl = cid

So, 4.03 x 4.03 x 3.5 x 0.7854 x 8 = 357.1568
