A/C condenser lines / compression fitting
'98 E350 Clubwagon with front & rear air conditioning:
I think I may have found the source (photo) of my air conditioning refrigerant leak. If the photo doesn't show up its a compression fitting in one of the larger metal line couplings (mid van drivers side) that goes to rear condensing unit. (sorta looks like corrosion you would find around a water heater fitting).
Q: Since all the refrigerant leaked out last year, I'm going to undo fitting and attempt to clean and retighten before recharging - Is there an appropriate thread sealant that can be or should be used on refrigerant lines? Or just clean and tighten metal to metal?
