Smile rear heater lines......

It's a 1995 E150 5.8L w/E4OD Tuscany Conversion Van showing 188K miles. The metal coolant lines to the rear heater were rusty and leaking so when I had the fuel pump replaced the mechanic disconnected them under the "doghouse" engine housing. Is there a way to use regular rubber heater hose instead of the metal lines? The front heater will heat the whole van, eventually on really cold days, but it gets very warm for the fronseat passenger and driver. Thanks!

You shouldn't have any trouble doing that.

Yes, though I would put a cut off in the lines under the hood going to the rear for future line leaks. Use the red rubber lines, www.jcw.com sells it in 50 foot rolls. Around where you clamp it down, surround the line with a piece of cut rubber hose so it does not chaffe.

I know this is an old thread, but if you haven't already replaced with all rubber, consider using soft copper lines. The originals are probably steel, for cost reasons.
