On my 66 F100 4x4 Custom Cab, I’m attempting to replace all the burned out dash bulbs. I looked up bulb types and most are model 1895, however, when I tried those they fit in the alternator and oil caution lights, but are too small for the single wire dash lights. Any ideas what bulb is best for these?

Believe it or not those all use the 1895 bulb. The metal sockets don't seem like they would fit snug but once you get it in there it shouldn't fall back out. You can swap bulbs between the black plastic sockets and the metal sockets without any issue.
You might see if you can squeeze the metal sockets just a touch closer where the bulb tabs go into it. Going a tiny bit oblong shouldn't hurt anything. It should be fractional. I can imagine the metal sockets wearing a bit larger inside diameter over time.
