Quick Easy Immobilizer
Until a few blocks later.
I wish there were bait cars, bait catalytic converters, bait trucks, and in particular, bait Super Duties in every state of the Union.
And that every bait bust was well publicized.
They would rig up high theft cars and trucks with cameras, Immobilizer, and auto door locks. A high tech trap.
They would place them in high theft location parking lots, and monitor them both with a chase vehicle, and from a centre.
Once the door was opened they would be alerted. Allow the vehicle to be hot wired and driven off the lot. Once rolling the doors would lock. Chase vehicle follows discretely and commands immobilizer when safe to do so. No chance to run since locked in car and they are BUSTED.
Video and Audio recorded of the criminal inside the car.
Some hilarious footage was shown on the news on a regular basis.
Best comment I ever heard was a guy talking to his buddy the passenger saying, “ Damn… I hope this isn’t a bait car”. The look on their faces when the car shuts off and they can’t get out. Priceless.

DON’T buy the switch I linked previously.
I had some issues where this switch was working intermittently and after some diagnosis it got turfed. It’s been determined that the sexy, low profile, CNC aluminum, Halo LED switch is a piece of crap.
Today I got it all installed.
This is the one I ended up using.

Started with locating and drilling the hole for the switch.
Directly centre over the brake pedal is where I located the momentary switch.
I peeled back about 3 inches of the split loom for the CPP feed lines to the bypass block supplied for the automatic trucks.
I snipped the White/Pink, the wire coming down from the split loom is the hot side.
Once the wires were bared I temporarily wired in the switch to check. All good so “let’s get er dun”.
Wired in with butt connectors double walled adhesive lined shrink and bolted down. Prior to installing split loom and buttoning up I tested the system again.
All clean and buttoned up.
Quick pic of what it looks like from the underside. Hides really well. My wife was stumped and she knew what to look for. Don’t worry if your looking at a big a$$ switch and worried about trying to hide it. It tucks up nicely into that channel.
A little jumper that is in the toolbox behind the rear seat.
All done and If I was to have had a flawless install without the shopping trip. 1-1/2hrs tops and about $10.00 all in.

^^^^That is the determined we won’t stop.
This was more intended for a parking lot deterrent where I come out of the store and find the door lock punched and ignition jimmied but the truck is still there.
I did the full write up on it to be considered for the tech folder. @Y2KW57 post #49 if it pleases you.
After she passed, the buyers of her home gave me that gate, as they built a new one. That very same old gate now serves as my no cross line.
As requested, @F350towing 's Quick Easy Immobilizer write up is now forever immortalized in the FTE Tech Folder, right underneath @SpringerPop 's Engine Disabler link (that now appears to be disabled).
