I wanted dual batteries but not dual alternators and that was not possible. I ordered upfitter switches and that triggered dual alternators on my truck. I had built it several ways and I think that was the only time it was mandatory on my truck with another option.
If anyone has a 7.3 with upfitter switches and a single alternator please chime in?
Maybe with premium package having heated seats, then snow plow package and upfitter switches with the possibility of having alot of draw on the system it defaults to adding battery and alternator.
When I order my 2020 by selecting dual alternators it defaulted to dual batteries and required a YES to accept the change. The truck did have Upfitter switches.

Looked pretty dirty there scraprat, but much better now. I like to spray the entire engine bay down with Simple Green (including the battery) at least once a year, and then spray it all down which makes everything look new again. I've compared to friend's engine bay over the years and when you don't bother doing this there is corrosion in places mine doesn't (exact same truck but his was a year newer) and the engine bay just looks crappy, so a quick spray and hose down does wonders. I even spray the computer harness as seen in your picture, and all plastics look like new. Spray it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes and spray it off. Pretty quick and easy.
Any ideas on how to keep the squirrels from packing the winter supply of acorns under the hood. That Simple green is some great stuff. I don’t wash my truck often as I figure the dirt and dust just helps protect the paint from briars and such on the farm. But when I do wash it simple green is the go to for a lot.

I found a few acorns stashed under the hood as well this fall. I got rid of them and now check under the hood more often but haven't seen anymore. Using the truck more often helps as well.

It has been a big crop of acorns this year where I am . Out checking cows this afternoon and daughter rode along and as I was on edge of one field they were so thick it sounded like a few kids popping those bubbles on bubble wrap. Lol. I love driving my truck but geezers gas prices. But that’s part of owning soothat can haul a house or two down the road. I reckon.
Going through my mileage book for 2022 and getting some #s.
1/1/22 _ 39,402 miles _ engine hours 903 _ idle hours 232
1/1/23 _ 84,555 miles _ engine hours 2,053 _ idle hours 600
I ran the truck across the scale the other day to see if I had any weight creep.....wouldn't you know it. There's always room for one more thing.
Top one when brand new, topped the gas tank off & me straight from dealership.
Middle after putting cap on and misc stuff carried daily, topped the gas tank off & me.
Bottom after 1 year 9 months, topping the gas tank off & me.
Turned over 100k this morning and running like a top. I was trying to think what I would like different in the truck now after 2 years and can't think of anything I would change.
Put new tires on the truck today at 109,111 miles, these are the above tires with 57,899 miles on them. They did fine job on and off road even in snow conditions. Rotated them roughly every 10k miles.
I put the original Goodyear Wrangler Adventure A/T tires that came on the truck back on. These tires wore great and did a fine job on and off road plus snow conditions. I went back to these because they where $16 cheaper per tire plus have a $75 rebate. Got them at Discount Tire, out the door at $1,265.15. Minus the mail in rebate of $75 bringing the total to $1,190.15. Good for another year. 😀
