i've got a 95 f150 xlt and i was wondering if a spedometer from a lightening will work in my truck, and if so, will my mileage be accurate or will it be messed up?
I used the shareware program GoldWave to create a sine wave at 3KHz to simulate the ABS sensor in the rear axle at ~80 mph to run up miles on a PSOM. I played the .WAV file on my computer through the sound card to the stereo and hooked the speaker wires to the PSOM's speed sensor terminals, and adjusted the volume JUST loud enough to make the speedo detect it. After a few days, I had the odometer where it needed to be.
If you buy it new from a Ford dealer, they can order it with your mileage already programmed into it.
The second step is to set the conversion constant in the PSOM to your tire size so registers the correct mileage as you drive. I've posted that procedure already: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=104045 Read my SECOND post in that thread.
