I have decided to sell off my VW camper and get a truck with a slide in camper instead for more power (4cyl vs 8) and room.
This will be for a family of 4 with 2 kids.
I just look at an '87 F250 Supercab today. It is selling for a really low price. I can fix it up mechanically and all, so I'm not worried about reliability.
What I am concerned about is travelling comfort for the person in the back.
I can get a rear bench lift kit that raises the rear bench 4 inches.
I am just wondering if that's enough for comfort. I'm thinking of travelling from California to as far as Canada.
Does anyone have experiences, 20/20 hindsight etc?
Thanks!

(no, this one doesn't have room for 4 )
The back seat in my '89 is a little tight for two adults, alright for one. When I have more than one adult, they prefer to ride in the camper, 'course there is the seat belt problem. For small people, it would be fine, but you have to look ahead.
Umm if your kids are young it mught be fine but 2 adults is a tight sqweeze, the problem is the seat is so low. they sell lift kits for the seat I think its a 4" lift so that may help. JC Whitney should have them, Cheers
