PCV Valve

Thinking my PCV valve may not be working, so I'm trying to remove it to check. Found in the service manual that the coupling has a locking tab - it also mentions that the locking ears will break off upon removal. What's the trick to removing both the hose coupler and valve?

If I remember correctly the hose has a tab that locks it to the valve, located at the rear. The proper sized open ended wrench applied to the PCV valve body and turned counterclockwise will remove the PCV valve. I don't recall what size wrench at the moment.

The tabs do break, so have a new one ready to put in before removing the old one.

Thanks for the tip - the valve sounds straight forward, but I need to look at the coupler again to see how this locking tab holds it to the valve.

I just removed the PCV valve while still attached to the hose. There was enough slack to disconnect the old valve and then install the new one and reattach the hose. Easier to connect blind than to disconnect.
