alrighty, my experience with my 17 F250 6.2 with 60k miles. I had to replace my coils and spark plugs at 45k miles as it had the typical symptoms of a bad coil and through a code indicating misfire. At 60k miles I got the same symptoms, plus a long delayed start all at the same time. I took out all the coils and tapped them to see if any debri would come out, sure enough coil #8 had what look like ashes from an ashtray falling out. I decided to do another complete coil change but this Time I went with MSD coils, same coils that allot of the Raptor guys are running. The MSD coils in my opinion are made of a better polymer than the Motorcraft coils. I also decided to go with NGK plugs. Well let me tell you this!!! I have a instant start up immediatley!! Even much quicker than previously at any time. This was my experience and what I did. I can tell you after reading allot, I actually thought it was the fuel pump, but at 60K it's obviously not and these 6.2's are very coil/electric conducting sensative engines. Good Luck

Mine been doing it since about 10,000 miles you wouldn’t think it would be coils that early. When did yours start.
Mine started around 50k miles, replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs and wires with all OEM Motorcraft, 12k miles later same problem. In my opinion the Motorcraft coils are junk, were replacing them way to soon!! I decided not to go back as the reviews on the MSD direct replacement coils were good. No more long starts since the install and she idles great!

i have noticed a decline in my already bad mileage, so out of curiosity i just checked and my coils are heavily corroded on all the ones i pulled. truck only has 46k miles on it.
