2001 ranger 4.0l V6. The PCV valve should be -drivers side valve cover in the back near the firewall. Why is there a small radiator hose bent around it, and how do i get it out? i tried pulling and unscrewing it but it won't budge.
Is this the pcv valve?
I want to make sure before i yank it out.
I'm not familar with the 4.0 layout but it sounds like the same thing Ford did on the 3.0 to stop throttle body ice. I've never seen a PCV that didn't just pull out.
Me neither. That's why i was asking. They usually just pop right out. I've never seen the tube bent around it so that's why i wanted to make sure it was the right one. Any idea what would cause it to not come out? it wiggles like it's loose but it doesn't move.
Do you change them or clean them out? Myself I've always installed new ones I didn't think they were that expensive. I've many people(even a mechanic) tell me it was just easier to clean it out. By the way I used to have a chevy cavlier in which the pvc valve fit in a housing that threaded into the valve cover. It was different but it worked pretty good.
