Can someone please give me detailed instrucions? I did some searches but found nothing. I know where the PCV is on my 3.0, but do I just disconnect the hoses and replace valve, or do you have to cut the hoses at the old valve connection?
Thanks.
You should just undo the hoses, pull the valve out, put the new one back in, and reattach the hoses. Gimme a sec and I'll pull out the Haynes.
Shake the valve, make sure it rattles. It it doesn't, replace it.
Start the engine, allow it to idle, then disconnect the PCV hose. Check to make sure a vacuum is felt.
Check the rubber grommet around the valve.
Remove the hose and clean with solvent. Inspect it for wear, damage, and deterioration.
Reinstall.
