Hi there. New to the forum and have a question. I do most of the work on my own vehicles when I have the time and am not new to wrenching. I'm trying to track down an intermittent issue with my 2003 Limited 6.8. A bit of background on it, it's had a host of previous owners since new and now at about 207k miles with me. No major issues and very little background as to what has been replaced in the past.
I've replaced pretty much the whole front end including the hubs and ABS sensors and have an intermittent ABS light that comes on. No codes are stored. I've read that sometimes a bad coil can set off an ABS light and I have had a misfire code on CYL10 in the past but it's not constant. Any ideas where to start? The ABS was an issue before I pulled apart the hubs and rebuilt/replaced the front end.
When that happens with ours, it's the sensor in the back that goes into the front of the differential. It gets debris on it that you can simply clean and then install back in place.
What are you using to check codes? I recently replaced my front driver ABS sensor. I diagnosed the exact part with my Autoenginuity software. Only the ABS light was on, no check engine light. My generic reader did not specify what the issue was on this vehicle.

I've got a BlueDriver. Should read it if it exists.

I'll look into this, thanks. Now I've just got to find it....
Recommend using FORScan/FORScan Lite to read these codes. If you have an ABS light on, it will have a code. Cheap diagnostic tool to have in addition to your BlueDriver - and good support for it on the 7.3 superduty forum if needed.
When my ABS light was on, I had a P0500 and an open circuit on the rear diff sensor. You can measure it without removing it first, and see if it reads the right resistance. If it does, remove and clean it as bwguardian suggests. If that still does not work, recommend getting FORScan working so you can confirm the codes to point you to the offending part.
The ABS module has its own computer and stores its own codes. You must access the ABS module itself to find the code. You are looking on the PCM with your Blue driver, and the code is not there.

I'm assuming that the ABS module has its own port to read from and it's not OBD2? Never having had to deal with ABS issues on any previous vehicle I'm guessing this has been standard for some time but I'm just not in the know, apparently.

Thanks for the information. The FORScan will work though the OBD2 port?

Uses same OBD II port as the PCM. You just aren't talking to the correct module yet. FORscan will talk to the ABS module directly. So will many others...
