Diesel is generally hovering around $5.00 a gallon here in Cincinnati. Truck stops are a bit more.
For the RV, I use a "fleet card" and get a discount on fuel purchases. It's nice because I don't have to estimate how much fuel I actually need and either go inside and pay cash or card. My regular bank card won't work at a truck pump because it won't let the hold go through. So, I got the TSD card, which links to my bank account and they provide a discount at certain stations (truck stop diesel at this time only). They alos have a n app (Open Roads) that you can see transaction history and station prices with the discount they give at that particular station. this past weekend, I filled the X for $152.09, with the original price being $176.04 at $5.199 a gallon at the pump. So, I saved $27.33. They obviously don't give this out for free. On that transaction, they got a .65 fee and they charge 10% of whatever discount you got. In my case, $2.733. For the station, the advertised price is $5.199 and the advertised discount is $4.392.
It's a pretty good program and is awful convenient when getting a fair amount of fuel. There are rumors that they are going to allow gas at regular pumps in the near future.

Their websites states that the gas discount program is scheduled to start this summer. I hope it does begin early, we have a 2 month trip planned with 5303 towing miles (typically 8/9 MPG towing and it burns 89 octane) and a lot of local running around the various destinations.
For the last couple years I've been using Gas Buddy. I get anywhere from 5 to 25 cents off, depending on the station. I am gonna top off with 87 octane at $3.74 after discount here in a moment.
If you're feeling nice, use my referral code EG2MMZ9 when you sign up and I'll save another 10 cents.
We fuel up at Costco or Sam's Club. My wife maps them so we can usually stop on our route to gas up. The fuel at Costco is always cheaper. Weve gone cross country and have never had a problem finding a convenient place to fuel up.
