It’s a shame we produce so much oil and gas in this state, country and continent with much more potential but have what we have going on right now. And get warnings for discussing the truth of the matter. Gotta keep the snowflakes happy.
I have been in the oil and gas industry (production) for twelve years.
Diesel was $4.79 yesterday evening and this evening it’s $4.99.
My post was removed because apparently I violated a rule. It was a picture of someone pointing at the prices saying “I did that!”.
My apologies and I will apologize in advance if this post breaks any rules.
Moving forward, I drove from Los Angeles to Bakersfield yesterday and back home today, ~310 miles paying $7.01/gal for diesel. So for those of you not in California, I feel your pain. Be thankful your state doesn’t charge such outrageous taxes.
We're being gouged in a big way. The fuel in the tanks at the station did not cost them that price. They're raising the price based on futures. I feel the price of oil and gas/fuel should be base on what it was (dated barrels) when it came out of the ground. This is why I said its a crime.
Lets see if I can get through this without being removed....if you know someone is going to do something and have the reasoning to stop it...but dont...because you will then use that action as an excuse to get what you want, a bad thing, then you are a treasonous a-hole. As well, if you have the power to do something simple to relieve said bad thing, and dont, then its obvious you are a treasonous d-bag a-hole. And Im not just talking about the "patient" but more about the people administering the treatment.
I just very much hope that everyone is feeling this pain, and not just the people with a brain.
In the words of Mark Twain (or Samuel Clemens, whichever you prefer).
Don't know if this will get deleted (actually censored would be a better description of what's happened so far in this thread), my meme of a train car load with coal (aka electric car fuel) did for some reason, because you know, the FACT that electric cars are powered by coal is a political statement somehow I guess.

I think that everyone will at some point. Our entire economy is based off of cheap oil. Everything that is grown by a farmer, made in a factory it all will become more expensive soon. I believe in trying to find alternative energies to be better stewards of what we have, but by and large there is no single technology available today to replace oil and you can't mothball the oil industry because you want to get there today. The US had/has the best regulations for environmental standards I'm the world for oil production. But the environmentalists pressured the democrats and they caved. They stuck their heads in the sand and allowed other countries far less capable than ours for environmental protections, to increase their oil production so that we can buy their oil, at a higher price than we can produce it at. Just to make themselves feel good about their accomplishments. Make the alternative energies cheap and effective like oil and people will buy it. That's how capitalism works folks.

Gas was 3.99 in Central MN, diesel was 4.89.
Think maybe that's how socialism gets pushed? Make the lives of the citizenry hard via self inflicted measures, then tell them "government can fix all your issues and make your life easy, here look ,socialism" , because you know, socialism has worked so well in every country its ever been tried in. It literally has a 100% failure rate throughout all of human history, but for some reason, the elites still want it.

Consumer price changes, both up and down, often lag the change in cost of materials/production. It's common in many areas.
In the case of fuel, the price of oil has jumped to over $130/barrel. The U.S. consumes just over 20 million barrels/day. So the cost of oil going into the system is over $2.5 billion/day. That's $75B/month.
Most industries just don't have an extra $75,000,000,000 lying around to purchase raw inventory. It makes sense to tie the retail price to the current materials cost. The alternative is to put financing costs into the equation, further raising the price.
Over the long haul, we're better off with this system.
I can see it now here in Cali. "Charge your car during off hours to save the Grid". Everyone will get home from work and immediately plug in their cars causing black outs.
This was planned and the truth is censored so there you have it. Can I post this bluemods?
Cost me over $200 to fill up my Excursion today. I work in the oil and gas industry, some of you have no idea what you are talking about. We know why this is happening, keep censoring us, the truth will come out.
