Does anyone have a picture of what the throttle cable looks lie on a '67 f100? I have a '65 and put a 289 in it. I am having issues with the throttle cable. I had a 300 6 cyl. in it and that cable is entirely too long. I pulled one out of a '71 and it does not work right either. Every other year I have looked at doesn't even come close. Can anyone help?
There is no cable, just solid linkage. Well, it has a reverse bellcrank in it(for whatever reason). It is quite a cluster.
I removed all the crap from mine and just put a nice straight rod on mine. A stop at your local auto parts store should get you running again. Maybe make a mock-up with a coathanger to make sure you get enough(been there, done that).
What exactly is the problem mustangmaniac? I just finished fighting with my linkage, but I did get it sorted out. I do have some pics of the "coat hanger" linkage if that is what you are after.
Well, I pulled a 300 6 cyl. out of my 65 and dropped in a 289. The cable was about 1 1/2 feet too long due to where the carb set on the 300. I need a shorter cable. I was able to get one out of a 71 I think. It looks like it might work with minor modification.
