Does anyone have a part number for the parts for this? I have checked LMC and do not see anything on there. My truck does not have any sort of EVAP, or EEC system and I guess uses a vented cap. The garage reeks of gas after the truck has been sitting in there. I have check for any sort of leaks in the fuel lines, as well as hoses going to the tanks. Im assuming this is what is causing all of this?
I would look the cap over. I would also look over the filler hose and vent hose. They can get hard and crack. Filler necks can get rust holes in them as well.
You want a filler neck and cap from a later post emissions truck, but before adding it, you'll need to improvise a purging system with a charcoal canister. Best is to grab it off of a later truck at the junk-yard. The donor truck will have the vacuum diagram on the V.E.C.I. decal under the hood, but I'm not sure how the electronic purge solenoid gets wired up. Another challenge could be the vent on your carburetor, if it's the mechanical one which opens when the throttle is opened.
The purge system is necessary, or you'll blow out (or in) the tank from pressure changes.
So after getting under it today installing a new steering stabilizer, I started the engine and was laying under it looking around and noticed some liquid dripping from a particular spot. I reached down to smell it and it was gas. Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't worked on many engines and not sure what the part is, but here it where it was coming from:
In this top pic it was coming out of the upper ring of that right side cylinder.
That's your fuel pump. Maybe try moving the clamp up the hose closer to the pump. If it is indeed bad, just a heads up I just replaced mine in my 460 and I couldn't find a replacement one that fit right. Where the filter attached to it (mine was permanently attached) it kept hitting the oil pan on the block. I wound up ordering a Holley filterless one and had to put an inline filter in the hose from the tank to the pump.

I will try that later today. When I was under it yesterday, I didn't see any fuel coming from the hose itself, it almost looks like it was running down the side of the pump inside from the top, or a crack in the metal somewhere. This had a 429 swap in it and I've been trying to find some all morning. Is there anyway to tell the difference between a 429 CJ and SCJ without ripping it apart?
