My 65' is completely apart there were no grounds attached anywhere independent of what may be in a wiring harness and the main battery to engine ground. Everything did work before I took it apart.
I welded a stud to my frame in two places. 1 directly under the battery for the negative cable and 1 at the rear of the block below the heater core for my body and engine ground straps.
I have grounds from; battery to block battery to core support, frame to block, firewall to block dashboard instrument panel to firewall, where it goes to block. Hood to fender to frame, bed to frame... I think that's it. Kind of overkill but I got a deal on a spool of braided copper wire on Amazon.
