My 6.0 is leaking coolant and leaving a spot on the rear passenger side of the engine. I have looked the engine over multiple times can cannot see any residue. No residue in the valley, non on the back of the engine. No residue but it is a significant leak. Thanks in advance.
My truck is currently leaking from where the EGR cooler plugs into the bottom of the intake manifold. It drains off the back of the block on the passenger-side. My valley looks dry, but I believe there enough of a cavity down under the intake manifold that you can't see it. It actually drains onto the tranny cooler lines so at first I thought it was trans fluid (red). I get a few drops of anti-freeze a night.
You can check for a leak by looking from the driver-side of the engine, behind the oil filter housing there's a little spot where you can see thru to that fitting. Mine was definitely wet with coolant.
In the below pic, its the smaller fitting right next to where the EGR flow turns up into the intake manifold. To fix you have to pull the intake manifold & EGR cooler. Mines not bad currently so I'm being lazy about fixing it. Great time to upgrade to a Bulletproof EGR cooler.
