Well, I guess it's nice to dream, but you will never see a basic no frills type machine that the average joe can do to what you did to your 78. I like the idea of the F-150 only I think your drawing is just a hair short somehow. No way would it be on that bloated puff-dog "super" duty body. Also if ever made you can forget the removable top to the windshield. I don't think they would spend the time and money to design in the required rigidity and safety items. I think the 6.0 diesel should be an option and also the lightning package in 4x4 version( ala Typhoon). And definatly redesign the roll down rear window of the last body run of bronco's. That whole window and tailgate combination was the worst part of the whole vehicle. I would definately want a washer/wiper and maybe an avalanch type setup to convert the bed if you wanted which would be real cool when you removed the top.
