1. no that isnt true. 2. its coming from a dodge site. All of those cummins guys need to do their homework on their own motor. cummins 6.7 is only going contain 30% if its original parts. that means they are leaving their original proven design. just as they have so called "insiders" about ford i have one for dodge. and according to him the 6.7 will not be nearly as reliable as the 5.9 was. the dodge guys are quick to point out that the all new powerstroke is so-called not reliable and it isnt even out yet and they are in the same postion as we are with a new motor.
was it an old thread....I thought the first post saide "today" at suchn such a time? if its an old thread they could be right about hte production being pushed back...but no further than the january date its set for now
No that guy joined in May 06, the thread was started yesterday... I won't believe anything I hear about reliability until these engines actually come out and people are buying them and using them. Then we will see which engine is the best for reliability.
"One that sticks out in my head is that they did a rod clearence test. After 75 hours it moved 30 thousands of an inch."
This statement is made by someone who doesn't really know what they are talking about.
"Bear in mind that this is a prototpe and ford has pushed back production date for the new motor."
More BS, anyone that believes they are testing "prototypes" of the 6.4 in December of 2006 and Ford has pushed back the production date of Internationals 2007 emission V8 engine will believe most anything. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
everything is still on schedule. training and model launch will go on as planned as far as i know. those guys on the dodge site are insane literally because they sound either uneducated or to pissed off to know better. these engines and trucks have been in fleet trucks since may of 06 and there are several. we will just have to troll on there site with a box of tissues when they start crying due to the new engine with all the new emmision stuff.
You if roam around their site and look at info on the new 6.7L you find that poeple are complaining about the same thing on the new Dodge engine as they were complaining about on the new Ford engine. Also, it says Dodge is adding a seperate line item for “Ultra-Clean Diesel System” and a charge of $995. This way it "will provide high visibility of the sophisticated emissions systems on the Ram" HAHA...A sophisticated Ram.
