Nutter, with all due respect; that thing is butt ugly.
And, anything but a by design "all terain vehicle" ~or~ "utility vehicle".
That, in my opinion, is just another soccermom mobile.
As for building the Bronco on the F-350 or similar . .
I must be confused; it already exists, and they stink without thousands of dollars worth of aftermerket modifications. If your intention is to use them in the same historical context as the original Bronco, you have the wrong truck in mind.
Ya know, if they build it and DO NOT under any circumstances put in the 'creautre' comforts...soccer moms will not buy it as in well....power windors and locks are ok.....but nothing more...
Personally, If you have to build a bronco (not what I choose to drive) I would recommend a retro style like the first ones that are so popular to rebuild today. They pulled it off with the t-bird, why not a bronco?
"If we didn't buy them they wouldn't make them! DUMMY; it's like you just said. it's about the P.R.O.F.I.T."
(I can be hard on myself sometimes - sorry)
I would be interested to see the ration of old to new trucks owned on this board.
Conceptually:
If you have three or four ~70's trucks, you *could* have a new one.
Why so many old trucks? Not because we actually can not afford a new one, I would venture to guess.
Thus; We are not buying new ford trucks we are buying old ones. They do not cater to "us" because we have not screamed loud enough in the streets that we are tired of the plastic profit machines and want some danged REAL trucks !!
vote ctfrizzy for President of Ford Motor Company!
(say, you DO own stock in Ford . . don't you?)
I would think the Bronco should be based on the F-150 platform....or even the 3/4 ton (F-250) platform that was shortened to allow for solid axles, the V-10 and the diesels. It shouldn't be as big as the Excursion, but more like the Explorer/F-150 regular cab. The top and doors should be removable and I would love to see it with a SVT performance/body option.
FORD reproduced the model t this year
and they're doing the GT 40 thing
why not do this with the original bronco ?
I know I know that'd be too good to be true
keep the price reasonable though
I can't see why anybody would buy a new T-bird when you could get an original for less- I've seen 50s T-birds for sale around 30K
that's less than the new retro-bird, and a 57 will appreciate, whereas a 2003 just keeps depreciating
$64 question: "How do we get Ford (or any of them - I'd jump ship in a second) to listen?"
The idea that "they" would not listen to someone willing to pay just as much for a completely stripped down heavy duty utility model as soccer mom and corprate dad would for a deluxe plastic pimpmobile version boggles my mind.
Yea, I'm talking about me, a guy who actually bought a $60,000 pickup truck one time.
. . traded it in, and bought a Ranger - that's the gospel truth.
60k p/u huh? I figure the new Bronco, need, with all options...the same as the 90s....hmm.....or even better....A/C, power wind, locks, rubber floor mats, removable doors.top...and a C/D player...and a built in CB!! with 10 ft whip!...two tone paint top/bottom...that is the XLT ...Lariat has carpet....a soft top option would be nice...solid axle would be great but not gonna happen....floor mounted 5spd and 4x4 shifter. manual locking hubs....non of that FX4 crap...
