In addition to the Customer Placed Trailer Camera, I also got the UTT (Ultimate Trailer Tow) Camera Package with Pro Trailer Backup Assist. I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that's the one that allows CHMSL while at speed, as well as the 360 degree overhead view.
Could be either. Regardless, it doesn't really make sense to lock it out on some trucks and not others. It doesn't make it any less safe having more cameras. It is either or either not a safety concern. Shouldn't matter whether you have 1 or many cameras.
If your truck works while driving with the CHMSL camera, then all you have to do is have the trailer camera plugged in and push the camera button on the dash a second time.
Larry, you and I seem to be an anomaly because our CHMSL cameras work while driving, and everybody wants to know why. I think we both have the UTT/360 cameras and customer placed trailer camera options but, does your truck have Sync 3 or Sync 4?
I have a 2021 with UTT/360 and PTBA and I can view either the bed camera or the customer installed trailer camera when in motion. When you come to a stop or slow down below 6 mph, it shuts off once you get back to 6mph and you have to hit the button again to turn it back on. It's a real PITA when you are in stop and go traffic and want to make sure the guy behind you is going to stop.

I have a 21 with Sync 3. It's a Lariat Ultimate with Black Appearance, UTT/360, 5th Wheel Prep, Customer Placed Trailer Cam.
Mine stays on until I start from a stop... or I turn it off... on either camera screen.
I ended up buying the module from 4dtech.com Kind of pricey considering it only unlocked the CHMSL camera and not the tailgate camera. I had hoped it would do both and allow me to toggle back & forth.
Have you tried double tapping the hang-up-phone-button on the steering wheel to get the Camera on Demand features going? I thought I read online it took a double tap of that steering wheel button to make things happen.

I had not heard of this. I don't have 360 cameras, only the tailgate and CHMSL. But what the heck, it doesn't cost anything to try! Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm sure you have enough by now, but just incase I have a 2022 with sync 4 and the bed cam, hitch cam and rear backup cam work while in motion. You have to use the camera button while driving to bring them up, but they do work at 50+ mph.
