Howdy gents.
New guy, been searching and can't find answer for my truck and finally deciding to join and ask.
I bought an old f150 from a guy down the street. (5.8, 4x4, automatic transmission). So, I took it to the beach and was planning to use it to pull the boat in and out of the water since my 2wd wouldn't handle it at low tide with the slick ramp. Noticed that the actuator lockout on the trailer was not working and figured it was a backup light fuse, and that was not it. Noticed that the backup lights on the truck are not working either and the bulbs appear good. Haven't tried replacements though. In reverse I was not getting power to the extra pin on the trailer plug, so to the best of my understanding, that means no power is getting to the solenoid to disengage the trailer brakes. Any ideas on where to start to fix this so I do not have to use the manual lockout pin every time I need to back my trailer?
Thanks
I don’t have access to a wiring diagram right now. My best guess is to test the MPLS to see if it is showing that you are in reverse and turing on the lights.
